Peace and Hope

In a world of fear and despair, where can a person find peace and hope? We read in Romans 5:1-2, “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

Life in this world brings heartache, trials, and anxiety, but you can find peace and hope in the midst of these trials. Jesus said in John 16:33, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Jesus can overcome the worries of this life if you trust in Him. The peace He brings exceeds mere feelings and actually creates a right relationship with God. Our sins separated us from God (Romans 6:23), but Jesus Christ took the penalty for our sins on the cross, opening the path for forgiveness and a right relationship with God (Romans 3:21-25). This free gift of salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-10). If you trust in Him as the eternal Son of God who died for your sins and rose on the third day, you can be forgiven and experience genuine peace and the hope of eternal life.
